‘Pretty Little Liars’ Recap:

We still don’t know for sure who killed Detective Wilden , but after the June 25 episode of Pretty Little Liars, we can narrow our potential suspect list considerably. … Just kidding! Hanna  got a peek at the cops’ board of suspects, and it turns out nearly everyone in Rosewood — including the liars — is on it. We did, however, get a pretty big clue that singles out one of the liars’ moms, and it should come as no surprise which mom that is.
That’s right, it’s Ashley ! The saucy minx — and totally natural redhead — has been on my watch list since day one, and soon, she could also be on the police’s. It turns out she was in Rosewood the night Wilden was killed, and Hanna’s dad realized his gun was missing after Ashley stopped by asking for money.
Sure, Ashley’s the most obvious suspect, which should rule her out. But wasn’t Mona also the most obvious person to be ‘A’? Think about it, kids.
Side note: All of this information was uncovered by Caleb , who returned to Rosewood this week with a renewed sense of heroism — and the most glamorous highlights I’ve ever seen on a man in my life.

The Mask(s)

Because every episode requires the girls to venture into the darkness late at night, this week’s installment took them to a creepy mask shop in the middle of the woods. It was the same shop Alison  visited to get her own creepy mask, so the liars went looking for answers — and as always, found more than they bargained for.
Not only did Ali apparently want all of her friends to look just like her, but Hanna also found a mask that looked like — wait for it — Melissa! Just when you thought we were rid of that she-devil, she returns to Rosewood in a big way. I don’t like this one bit.

‘Spoby’ Investigates

While the girls were out being creepy in the woods, Spencer  helped Toby  figure out whether there was anything suspicious about his mother’s alleged suicide. And because this is PLL we’re talking about, OF COURSE there was something suspicious about it! Because ‘Spoby’ apparently has a collective degree in criminal justice, the couple was able to deduce that there must have been foul play involved — and you can’t spell “foul play” without “A!”
Was Mrs. Toby… murdered?! Dun, dun, dun!

Field Family Values

But the girl in the most trouble now is Emily , who runs the risk of being taken from her home. Someone reported her parents to Family Services after noticing a pattern of suspicious behavior — Emily’s bruise, her dad always being away, and most recently, her mom fighting with her in front of the school — and it’s entirely possible the Fields family is facing its final days.
I’ve always found Emily’s dad to be super creepy, but I’d never want her taken away from them. Can you imagine the kind of foster home “A” would arrange Emily to go to?
I can’t even.

Ella’s World Tour

There wasn’t a whole lot on the Aria love triangle front this week, though we did get a few nice scenes with her and Jake ). I know people are sad about Ezra  getting the shaft — the hashtag #FightingForEzria was trending before this week’s episode — but I think we all just need to relax and enjoy the fact that Aria is happy. She’s with someone nice and cute, and more importantly, she’s with someone she’s legally allowed to be with.
On a slightly crazier note, Aria gave her mom  permission to accompany Zack to Austria. Out of nowhere. I know the liars are worried about “A” hurting their parents, but they do need some parental supervision during this mess!
