Miley Cyrus ''Not trying to be Nicki Minaj''

If anyone knows who Miley Cyrus is, it's the singer herself, and she is proving just that in the article for the current cover of Billboard magazine. The 20 year old singer opens up more than ever in the spread, which gives probably the best depiction of who she is as an artist right now that we've read so far. Miley is very candid in the article, explaining just how much her music means to her - in fact, she even explains quote: "I want my record to be the biggest record in the world, and I've given everything to get here, even down to friends and family and relationships-I've put the music first." Being that Miley has sacrificed so much for her music, it does make sense that she has a strong understanding of who she is. One person she's not? Well, Miley revealed to Billboard that a lot of people wanted her to be a QUOTE "white Nicki Minaj," but she point blank said -- "that's not what I'm trying to do." Miley went on to note that while she love's Nicki's style of music, she knows her talent is as a singer and that's what she intends to show off on her next release. She's even dubbed her sound "count-step," because, in her words, it's like country, dubstep and a little trap. Miley adds that she feels like this is really her very first record and it's capturing who she and others like her at this very moment.
