‘Pretty Little Liars’ Recap:

‘Pretty Little Liars’ Recap:

Plus, someone ended the episode in the back of a police car! College! Woo!
The girls got a taste of college life on the July 9 episode of Pretty Little Liars, and it did not taste good. More specifically, it tasted like bird meat and handcuffs, as Spencer (Troian Bellisario) finally traced the phone number that Tippi had been squawking about — and Hanna (Ashley Benson) got arrested! Yeah, it was one of those college parties.

Spencer, Hanna and Emily (Shay Mitchell) initially journeyed to Cicero College to track down the identity of “board shorts,” but things escalated pretty quickly — as they often do. Within minutes of arriving on campus, Spencer and Emily were at each other’s throats, and I ancitipate more tension next week as the girls didn’t exactly resolve their issues.

As for Hanna, I’m not sure why the episode ended with the police holding her at gunpoint, then whisking her off in a squad car. It might have had something to do with her finding a gun in her mom’s closet! After all, “A” did jokingly text that Hanna and Ashley (Laura Leighton) could share a lawyer — so maybe “A” wasn’t joking, after all.

Family Feud
Meanwhile, back in Rosewood, all four members of the Montgomery family — including Mike (Cody Christian), who has apparently spent his entire time off-screen doing the same workout Chris Hemsworth did for Thor – were putting aside their differences over a quiet night of board games.

It was a nice change of pace from earlier in the episode, when Ella (Holly Marie Combs) was being attached by “A” swarm of bees and Mike was bitching out Aria (Lucy Hale) for wanting their mom to move away with her boyfriend.

Come to think of it, why did Mike even suggest that Aria simply wanted alone time with Ezra (Ian Harding)? Has he not been watching the show this season? It’s all about Aria and Jake (Ryan Guzman) now. Hello?!
